| Working Principle
|
Methanol fixative works by fixing the proteins in the samples by forming cross-links. These cross-links maintain the natural conformation of the proteins and preserve the morphology and structure of the cells. This way, when the samples are examined under a microscope, they can be seen close to the natural state of the cells.
Methanol fixative also helps to preserve cell membranes and intracellular components. This prevents the structures and components inside the cells from disintegrating or changing, thus helping to ensure accurate diagnoses and accurate results. |

Danger Causes skin irritation. Causes allergic skin reactions. Highly flammable liquid and vapor Toxic if swallowed, in contact with skin or inhaled. Suspected to cause cancer. Causes damage to organs. Keep away from heat/sparks/flame/hot surfaces - No smoking. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection. Use personal protective equipment. IF INGESTED: Call NATIONAL POISON ADVICE CENTER TELEPHONE 114 or doctor/physician. IN CASE OF SKIN CONTACT: Wash with plenty of soap and water.
