Purpose |
In histology, histopathology and clinical pathology, the Perls Prussian Blue VanGieson Staining Set is used to detect the presence of ferric iron containing hemosiderin in tissue or cell samples. |
Working Principle
|
Ferric iron deposits in the tissue (mostly present as ferric iron in the storage protein ferritin) react with the soluble ferrocyanide in the dye to form the insoluble Prussian Blue pigment. These deposits are then visualized microscopically as blue or purple deposits. |
