| Working Principle
|
Zenker's fixative works through the combined effect of multiple chemical components. The mercury salts in its composition stabilize the cellular structure by precipitating proteins and particularly enhance the sharpness of nuclear details. Potassium dichromate reacts with cytoplasmic components to support tissue hardness and structural integrity. Acetic acid added before or during fixation enhances the preservation of nuclear structures and contributes to more distinct chromatin details. Thanks to this multi-component structure, Zenker's fixative can provide better nuclear detail than formalin in some tissues; however, due to its metal content, additional washing and processing steps may be required to prevent precipitate formation in tissues after processing. |
| Warnings, Precautions, Recommendations

Danger. May cause severe skin burns and eye damage. May cause respiratory tract irritation. The product may contain toxic heavy metal components and may be harmful if swallowed, inhaled, or absorbed through the skin. Prolonged or repeated exposure may cause serious health effects. Avoid breathing the product's dust, vapors, or mist. The work area should be well ventilated, preferably using a chemical fume hood. Protective gloves, chemical-resistant protective clothing, eye protection, and face protection equipment should be used.
If the product comes into contact with skin or hair, contaminated clothing should be removed immediately and the affected area washed thoroughly with water. If inhaled, the person should be moved to fresh air and kept in a position that allows easy breathing; if symptoms persist, seek medical attention immediately. In case of eye contact, rinse eyes thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes; if contact lenses are present and can be easily removed, do so and continue rinsing; if eye irritation persists, seek medical attention. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting and seek medical attention immediately. In all cases of exposure or suspected poisoning, seek medical attention immediately and show the product label or Safety Data Sheet to the healthcare professional. Due to the heavy metal content, waste must be disposed of in accordance with environmental regulations. |
