| Purpose |
It is a fixative solution specially formulated for cytological preparations (cell smears). It is used to preserve the morphological structure of cells and enhance staining quality in cellular samples such as Pap smears, fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) specimens, vaginal swabs, breast, thyroid, and other smear preparations. |
| Working Principle

Alcohol rapidly fixes the cellular structure by coagulating intracellular proteins and halting enzymatic degradation. This helps preserve the morphology of the cell nucleus and cytoplasmic details, providing clearer results during staining. |
| Warnings, Precautions, Recommendations
|
Danger. May cause severe skin burns and eye damage. May cause respiratory tract irritation. The product may contain flammable alcohol components and toxic chemicals; it may be harmful if swallowed, inhaled, or absorbed through the skin. Prolonged or repeated exposure may have adverse health effects and may carry a risk of cancer for some components. Avoid breathing the product's vapors or mist. The work area should be well ventilated, preferably using a chemical fume hood. Chemical-resistant protective gloves, appropriate protective clothing, eye protection, and face protection equipment should be used during handling. If contaminated clothing comes into contact with skin or hair, it should be removed immediately and the affected area washed thoroughly with water. If inhaled, the person should be moved to fresh air and kept in a position that allows easy breathing; if symptoms persist, seek medical attention. In case of eye contact, immediately rinse eyes thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes; if contact lenses are present and can be easily removed, do so and continue rinsing; if irritation persists, seek medical attention. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting and seek medical attention immediately. In all cases of exposure or suspected exposure, seek medical advice and show the product label or Safety Data Sheet to the healthcare professional. Keep containers tightly closed due to alcohol content. |
